 Hi, i'm from Mauritius.
i bought the Egreat S1A a month back from ebay.com.
I like the product very much.
I tried the several ports available on the device (HDMI, Component, Composite, Sata, USB, Optical Audio Out). All worked perfectly.
I tried the HDMI on my neighbour’s 42” LCD, played 1080p MKV Transformers, 720p Ironman. Image and sound was very good. No image freeze, etc., except that the Reverse button when pressed says Unsupported. Instead, I used time seek button.
1080p & 720p movies even play smoothly on my ordinary Sony 29’ TV through Component OUT.
However, the player doesn’t play all movie image files with .nrg extension.
This was a problem for me as I have many Tamil movies with subtitles on an external HDD.
Some days ago, while surfing the net, I found that a recent FW update (1.09.023) was available.
I downloaded the manual (Pdf format) and the update from the net, and carried out the update exercise.
This is the most stupid thing I did.
Since then my S1A is out of order. I am continuously being scolded by my wife and 2 children.
After updating was successful, I am getting the “Boot screen – Loading ...”, afterwards nothing is being displayed on the TV screen, not even the normal main menu.
As per the manual the player was supposed to reboot by itself till the menu apperas.
However, it rebooted up to boot image, then and always, there is no image at all.
I searched many forums, took their advice, downloaded several versions of updates, 1.09.012, .018, .020, .023 and also tried recovery softwares one by one .012, .020 & .023 – but all in vain.
Could somebody from Egreat help.
I paid $ 150 for the device and $ 50 for postage.
Pl inform me what I have to do and how to do it in clear steps please

I have already joined 4 discussion forums for Egreat S1A and have explained my problem.
So pl help.
If my problem is remedied, I shall inform the forums that support from Egreatcould be relied upon.

N.B. One thing I should tell you Egreatworld.com, your S1A manual is incomplete concerning FW update and recovery.
It never tells if you can upgrade directly from Ver 1.09.012/1.09.018 to Version 1.09.023 and if update failed, which recovery software version to use????

| hi, you can download the recovery FW from our website,www.egreatworld.com , you have do it if u have see the recovery screen appear, if you not see it ,you can do fellow :1). Turn on the player, when the boot image appeared, pls press the left keys of remote control repeatedly for 10 seconds, till the refurbish notice screen appear. 2). Select “yes” to recover. 3). It will cost 3 minutes, pls wait! 4). After recover, it will reboot automatically. |

| I updated my Egreat R1 with the "EGR_R1_1.0.5.39" firmware. And after it displayed "Install successfully finished" it took a black screen. After that i powered off and on at it will never be get up. No output appeared at composit and component outputs. I did a reset with right-side reset button, nothing changed. Please help to get it up! Thank you! Robert. |
| you can do :
1. download, decompression, rename as install.img and then copy to U disk.
2. Find out the restore button,press the button of the restore, then open turn on the player
3. Wait around 5 seconds, then loose the restore button,it will show the update screen after 10-15 seconds
4. wait for the upgrade

| hello, i just bought a r4b and play a movie...it works flawlessly....but when i try to play the 2nd time my screen blackout but the power button light is still blue meaning to say it still running...after several minutes it will go back to the main screen....so i try going to other functions like setup.....go to video and enter ....the screen black out again and the same process happen .....i try to restart the player but the problem still persist...pls help....is there any way to reset the player....pls help ASAP...thanks |
| hello, you can download the R4B's FW from our website ,and updata the FW use this way : 1)download,decompression, rename as install.img and then copy to U disk
2)Longer Press the key in "RESTORE" hole on bottom,then power on
3)After 5 seconds then release(it is no matter to press more time), more then 10~15s, you will see upgrade picture.
4)Wait for succeed in upgrade.

| Hello. I have problem with my Egreat EG-S7A player(5days old). When i turn on my player it shows egreat logo and after 1sec it turns all black screen and on displays says "LOADING". Firmware default. Please help. |
